Justin Shoemaker, Assistant Terminal Manager - Fort Worth Terminal

Justin Shoemaker is the assistant terminal manager at Groendyke in Fort Worth. He grew up in the heartland of America and was motivated to fight for his country after the attacks on 9/11/2001. He earned the title of United States Marine in 2002. While serving, he was a 3531 Motor Transport Operator that included two tours of duty in Iraq’s dangerous Al-Anbar province. Upon receiving an honorable discharge in 2006, Justin became a member of the Groendyke team. He has been instrumental in assisting with the growth of three Groendyke locations, Wichita, KS, Houston, TX and now Fort Worth, TX in his seven years of employment.

Joe Latour, Field Safety Coordinator - Houston Terminal

Joe LaTour is a Field Safety Coordinator for Groendyke Transport, after serving in the United States Marine Corps for four years. Joe grew up in and around trucks his whole life, so when it came to enlist, Joe joined the Marines under the delayed entry program with a guaranteed 3500 (Truck Driver) MOS.

Serving in the Marines allowed to Joe to be stationed all across the globe such as Camp Del Mar and Camp Casey. While Joe’s first stint at Camp Del Mar, Joe met and married his wife, who went on to serve 24 years in the Marines.

With the training and experience that Joe received from the Corps, he was able to obtain a Class A driver’s license. With the help of the G.I. Bill, returning soldiers may be eligible for aid in obtaining a Class A CDL. For more information click here

Joe joined Groendyke Transport 2000 as a refined truck driver in Fort Worth, TX. With his wealth of knowledge and experience, Joe was quickly promoted to a refined dispatcher. In 2004, Joe transferred to Kansas City, MO, and continued to serve as a refined dispatcher. After two years, Joe returned to Fort Worth, where he continued as a refined dispatcher until he transferred to Houston as a driver. In 2009, Joe was promoted to Field Safety Coordinator where he now has the opportunity to interact with drivers on a daily basis.

With hard work and a dedication to Groendyke Transport, Joe was able to move to various positions within the company to better suit the company’s needs as well as the needs of his family.
